Think... That's all I ask.

Welcome to GodLess.org.uk

I am an atheist. I am not a fanatic on the subject of religion. If it were merely a matter of abstract argument, I would not be interested. If it were simply an idea I would brush it off ignore it as a philosophical debate on which myself and many others disagree, but it is not. It is a controlling, warping, twisting lie! Religion causes wars, holds back social harmony and scientific research, causes millions to live in fear of eternal damnation, others to commit atrocities beyond imagination in the name of their loving god and still more live in ignorance and intolerance… in short Religion tells men that they are the slaves of God. Atheism tells men nothing, but allows them the freedom to seek the truth.

God Says: Obey!

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
-- Stephen Roberts

This websites purpose is to this end, to encourage those who read it to think. To urge those who rely on blind faith to question their beliefs to open their eyes, to take a look at the evidence and try to find the answers we should all be seeking. For the majority of people their religious beliefs and personal philosophy are things that are forced upon them at birth and taught to them while at a very young and impressionable age. Religion is, to the majority, a belief based on indoctrination, not one they chose when they were of an age to make their own decisions. Due to this by the time they are old enough they either chose to follow that faith out of peer pressure or ignorance. Religion is therefore very much to do with a person's culture and history and says little if anything about a person's faith. Faith based on understanding of the issues involved, is both deeper and more meaningful. People should have some “Self Belief” some confidence in their own abilities to weigh the evidence objectively. Then perhaps they would realise that in learning about other religions and cultures and examination of our own beliefs, we create compassion, understanding and self-confidence.
